Ciao to all our pizza-lovers out there! In light of Good Beer Week, we’ve pulled together a list of our best wood-fired pizzas and the beers you should be sipping on, for a match made in taste-bud heaven!
Our Diavola pizza is loaded with San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, very hot salami and spicy rocket. The fiery salami is best refreshed with a German style golden ale, like 4 Pines Kolsch. The light malty flavour, citrus and crisp finish, perfectly balances with the sweetness of the signature San Marzano tomato.
The Quattro Formaggi topped with fior di latte, grana padano, Emmental and Gorgonzola is a cheese lover’s heaven – we recommend pairing this of our lighter beers. The light and crisp notes of the lager, perfectly cut through the cheese, without overpowering those deliciously cheesy flavours. For the perfect balance, try our Menabrea to match with our Quattro Formaggi pizza.
Our Ichnusa is an Italian beer, brewed in Assemini, a town in the Southern end of Sardinia. It’s light, balanced flavours pair best with our Carnivora pizza. The soft scent of hops perfectly accentuates the flavour of the salami, and the lightness of the beer allows the fresh ingredients to shine and not overpower the flavour of the San Marzano tomato.
Lastly, our Margherita Verace pizza is always a crowd pleaser. Awarded World’s Best Pizza in 2014, our Margherita is topped with beautiful San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, basil and extra virgin olive oil. We’d recommend pairing this with a Peroni Red. Brought to you all the way from Rome, Peroni has been Italy’s number one beer brand for over a century. This beer has an authentic crisp and refreshing flavour, which is why we love to pair it with a traditional Margherita. It’s slightly bitter flavour and full body is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of basil and San Marzano tomato.
