The Prosecco Festival

The Prosecco Festival

Prosecco paired with margherita or mushroom pizza and pasta cooked in a wheel of parmigiano formaggio, because yes, dreams really do come true. On Saturday 23 February, the annual Prosecco Festival will be popping back just in time for summer. And of course, your favourite Italian food institution 400 Gradi will be firing up the wood-fired oven.

Held this year at Northcote Town Hall on Melbourne’s hip north side, be mesmerised as we swirl spaghettini through melted cheese and top with cracked pepper, and bake melted Nutella into a sugary calzone for a mouth-watering dessert pizza.

After you’ve had your Italian food fill, wander through the festival’s Spritz Garden and enjoy a prosecco-inspired cocktail, then taste your way through Italy’s and Australia’s wine regions, before returning to Gradi for a second helping.

With a range of delectable dishes on offer, make sure you bring down a food-loving crew so you can taste the whole menu. Our Prosecco Festival special menu will include:

Diavola Pizza: San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, hot salami
Romana Pizza: San Marzano tomato, Romana leg ham and mozzarella
Margherita Pizza: San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, basil, extra virgin olive oil
Mushroom Pizza: San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, mushroom
Nutella Calzone: Folded pizza dough, filled with Nutella
Cacio e Pepe: Spaghettini cooked in parmigiano and cracked pepper

Make sure you don’t miss out on a slice of the fine Italian food and wine action. Tickets are available online here for day and evening sessions and include a Plumm crystal tasting glass and tote bag for take-home wine purchases.

Due to space constraints and licensing restrictions, this is an adults only event – children under 18 cannot be accommodated at any time. So line up a babysitter and send off summer in style because it’s pizza and Prosecco time.
